The Spring 2022 Semester TV Journalism Class:
Matthew Revilla is a senior at the University of Toledo majoring in Media Communication. Graduating this spring he has been gaining experience working with cameras, editing, sound production, technical directing, and more. Amber is from Lake Township, Ohio. She is a senior majoring in Communications Studies and this is her second semester with UT:10 News. She currently works as the Communications and Administrative Coordinator for the education division of a non-profit organization based in Columbus, Ohio. She has over five years of experience in the field of community (charter) schools and previously worked as a marketing coordinator for an ergonomic chair and floor mat company. Her two-year-old son keeps her busy, but when she finds free time, she enjoys watching documentaries and crocheting.
Multimedia Journalist/Production Assistant
Trent is a senior majoring in Communication Studies on set to graduate in Spring 2022. Starting his college journey off at San Diego State University, Trent is glad to finally graduate from The University of Toledo in the area he was born and raised. This will be Trent’s first official semester in UT:10 News but he was fortunate enough to help out and go on-air in Fall 2021 as well. Recently, Trent has accepted an internship with the local station, FOX36, where he is excited to learn even more about the ins and outs of the media industry outside of the classroom as he hopes to become a news broadcaster and producer one day. In his free time, Trent enjoys indulging in pop-culture-related shows and music along with discovering new things around the city with his friends. Jake is a senior at the University of Toledo and graduates in spring 2022 with a major in Media Communication. Jake has been part of UT10 News since the Spring of 2021, and has served as the promotions producer the past two semesters. Jake has a passion for creative videography and has filmed dozens of weddings and commercials outside of UT10. In his free time, Jake enjoys drumming, fishing, and going to concerts.
Caleb is a Senior within the Media Communications major and in his third semester with UT:10 News where he anchors and produces the sports section for every broadcast. He is also involved with the Live Sports Productions on UT's campus and the school's radio station, WXUT. Caleb hopes to pursue a career in sports radio with a special interest in football. Tiara is a junior from Charlotte, North Carolina, who is in her second year of UT:10 News. She is majoring in Media Communications with a minor in Marketing. Tiara also works at WTOL as a news editor. She hopes to pursue a career as a reporter after her graduation in May 2023. Samanntha Rojas is from Fremont, Ohio, and is a senior at the University of Toledo. This is Samanntha's first semester on UT:10 News. She’s planning to graduate in May with a Bachelor of Media Communication degree. Samanntha hopes to pursue her career in news reporting and one day become a news anchor. Samanntha helps manage a family-owned and operated business during her free time. She has two nephews and three nieces who keep her busy and bring her joy and happiness.
