The Fall 2024 Semester TV Journalism Class:
Richard Adjei
Multimedia Journalist/Production Assistant Richard is a senior majoring in Communication and Media. He is also minoring in Digital Marketing. Born in Ghana, West Africa, Richard has remained an ardent follower of soccer and has covered several international soccer tournaments including the FIFA World Cup. He has used his platform (www.ghsoccerus.net) to write compelling articles about African soccer players in North America and beyond. With some experience in sports and print journalism, he is hoping to use UT 10 to improve his broadcast style writing and multimedia skills. Max Alfonso
Multimedia Journalist/Production Assistant Max is a senior from Cincinnati, Ohio, studying Media Communications. He has experience in writing for the University of Toledo student newspaper, play-by-play announcing, and color commentary in Cincinnati for high school sports. Most of his experience is in news as an intern for FOX 19 but wants to work primarily in sports. Whether that is being a writer, play-by-play announcer, or reporter. |
Quinn Cooper
Multimedia Journalist/Production Assistant Quinn Cooper is a sophomore from Toledo, Ohio and is majoring in Media Communications to pursue a career in multimedia journalism. Quinn also likes to participate in growing many other hobbies while pursuing their career, such as playing the guitar, partake in photography, editing social media videos, and lastly practicing doing voice over work. Isabelle Fahey
Multimedia Journalist/Production Assistant Belle is a senior from Dundee, Michigan and is majoring in Media Communications and minoring in Marketing to pursue a career as a sideline sports reporter. She is also a member of Alpha Omicron Pi and is a student photographer for the university. Belle also runs own UT:10 social media accounts. Trip Floyd
Multimedia Journalist/Production Assistant Trip Floyd is a third year student from Toledo, Ohio, majoring in Media Communications. He also serves as the Assistant Station Manager for 88.3 FM WXUT, UT's college radio station. Outside of the classroom, he serves as a radio and live DJ for WXUT, works for the Toledo Walleye and Mud Hens as part of the game presentation and production crew, and helps produce the University of Toledo's ESPN+ sports broadcasts. Spencer Gallup
Multimedia Journalist/Production Assistant Spencer is a fourth-year media communications major at Toledo hoping to go into the sports industry when he graduates, whether that is being behind the camera or on the radio. He currently is the program director at the student radio station at Toledo, WXUT. In his free time Spencer enjoys watching sports, fishing, and hanging out with friends. |
Andrew Hoffman
Multimedia Journalist/Production Assistant Andrew is a Senior from Toledo, Ohio majoring in media communication. He found a passion in media by doing camera work, radio and producing behind the scenes. He has interests in sports and storytelling alongside it. After graduation in spring of 2024, Andrew plans on getting a job in sports media, whether that be broadcasting, camera work with a TV crew, or producing with a live TV station. Asa Kridelbaugh
Multimedia Journalist/Production Assistant Asa is a Junior from Des Moines, Iowa, majoring in media communications at the University of Toledo. He has many interests within the realm of communications, but nothing adds up to his love for the radio and music. His interests outside of communications include things such as, geography, agriculture, and sports. After graduation in 2026, Asa plans on finding work in radio broadcasting back home in the Midwest. |
Nardeen "Neenee" Lakatos
Multimedia Journalist/Production Assistant Nardeen Lakatos is a Sophomore from the University of Toledo. She is majoring in media communication and minoring in Spanish. Nardeen loves to be in front of a camera and doesn't mind taking on different roles in the newsroom. She also likes to find out new or missing information and is interested in investigative news. Nardeen has had experience in the newsroom in high school, during an internship with WTOL11, and now she's in UT10. She likes to be busy with anything she can and hopes to do an internship during her junior year. On top of a full class schedule, she makes informational videos for a non-profit organization (Social Services for the Arab Community, SSFAC) and works at the West YMCA as a fitness coach. In SSFAC she likes to interview clients, edit videos, and use her talents for the greater good. In her free time, she likes to work out; learn languages; perform on stage and sing; play guitar; and is currently a member of the worship team in Crossroads Community Church. After she graduates, she would like to pursue a career in investigative journalism or multimedia journalism. Gavin Lake
Multimedia Journalist/Production Assistant Gavin is a senior majoring in Media Communication here at UT. He would like to use the skills learned here at UT to pursue a career in sports broadcasting. He is involved with the campus radio station 88.3 FM WXUT covering various different sports. Gavin is looking forward to his first semester with UT:10, and a great senior year. Nicholas Lang
Multimedia Journalist/Production Assistant Nick is a Senior Media Communications major from Cleveland, Ohio pursuing sports media. He has a passion for broadcast TV, and his dream job is to be a play-by-play commentator for the NHL. After graduation in the spring of 2025, he hopes to land in media whether it be anchoring, reporting, or live commentary. Excited to be on camera, he is looking forward to the opportunity to try new things with UT:10 |
Brooke Mellott
Multimedia Journalist/Production Assistant Brooke is a senior from Youngstown, Ohio majoring in Media Communication at UT. She has always had a passion for reporting and being on camera. She is also a member of Alpha Omicron Pi and works in Sports Production for the University filming for ESPN Mobile. She is currently interning with 13 Action News and hopes to pursue a profession in News Anchoring someday. Brooke plans to graduate UT in Spring 2025 and can be contacted at [email protected]. |
Crystal Smith
Multimedia Journalist/Production Assistant Crystal is a Senior from Orlando, Florida . She is majoring in Media Communications to pursue her dreams in becoming a multimedia journalist. She also has aspirations in the world of radio, in hopes to have her own successful podcasting channel. Crystal also graduated from Owens community college with a major in Political Science and minor in General Studies of Science. Crystal is on the leadership team at the university's radio station WXUT 88.3, where she is the Director of Member Engagement. Crystal is a very active member of the community, turning her internship with aMAYSing Kids as Site Coordinator, into a career job. She mentors children in the art of broadcasting and helps aid our next generation. When Crystal is not busy perfecting her skills in the media world, she is with her daughter Gia Bialorucki, who is a mini version of her. Although being a dance mom is rewarding there will be no better feeling then her mother Cindy Smith, who has stuck by her side every step of the way, and her daughter cheering her on walking across the stage this fall graduation. Autumn Vasquez
Multimedia Journalist/Production Assistant Autumn Vasquez is a graduating senior in The University of Toledo’s College of Arts & Letters. Her majors are Media Communication and Creative Writing and her minors are Spanish and Latinx Studies. She is very active in the student media organizations on campus, serving as the acting president of The Society of Professional Journalists, the news director of student radio station 88.3 FM WXUT and a staff writer for student newspaper The Collegian. Her work can also be found in Toledo Free Press, UToledo News, Toledo City Paper, Findlay Family, Mature Living, The Nation and more. After graduation she plans on attending graduate school for journalism to continue telling stories through a career in multimedia journalism. |
